Using a Truck Factoring Company is advantageous for several reasons. It permits a trucking company to raise money without getting brand-new debt. While debt is occasionally required, a lot of truck companies would like to raise cash without obtaining money. Debt is high-risk, and when it can not be repaid, assets can be repossessed. If the debt is huge enough, it may even force a freight brokerage out of business.

New Factoring Program Leaves Your Company Rolling in Profits - Select A FreightInvoice Factoring Company  Instead Of A Regular Bank Funding

Exactly how to Enhance Money Flow Without Borrowing -Cash Money flow is among the main reasons businesses fail.

At one time or another, every business, even successful ones, have experienced bad cash flow.

Cash flow does not have to be a problem any ever more. Do not be fooled -- banks are not the only places you can get funding. Other options are available and you do not have to borrow money. What is trucking factoring ? One solution is called trucking factoring. Truck Factoring is the process of selling invoices to a financier rather than waiting to gather the cash from the client. Oh, the Irony- Trucking factoring has an ironic distinction: It is the monetary backbone of many of America's most successful businesses. Why is this paradoxical ? Since staffing factoring is not instructed in business colleges, is seldom discussed in business plans and is relatively unknown to bulk of most of American company people.

Yet it is a financial process that releases up billions of dollars every year, allowing thousands of companies to grow and succeed. Commercial Factoring has actually been around for thousands of years. Receivable Loan Funding Companies are investors who pay money for the right to get the future payments on your invoices. An overdue receivable or invoice has value. It is a financial obligation your client has actually agreed pay in the near future. Factoring Principals--Although factoring offers solely with business-to-business deals, a large portion of the retail company utilizes a factoring principal. MasterCard, Visa, and American Express all utilize a form of factoring in their retail transactions. Using the purest meaning of the word, these big consumer finance companies are truly simply big Receivable Loan Funding Companies of consumer paper. Think about it: You purchase at Sears and charge it to your MasterCard. The shop makes money almost instantly, even though you do not pay until you are prepared.

For this service, the credit card company charges Sears a fee (typical common normal charges vary from two to four percent of the sale). The Advantages Receivable Funding can offer numerous advantages to cash-hungry companies. Rather than wait 30, 60, 90 days or longer for payment on a product that has currently been delivered, a company can factor (sell) its receivables for cash at a little price cut off the dollar value of the invoice. Payroll, marketing efforts, and working capital are just a few of the company needs that can be satisfied with instant  cash.

Receivable Loan Funding provides the means for a producer to replenish stock and make even more items to offer: There is no longer a requirement to wait for earlier sales to be paid. FACTORING is not just a cash management device for producers: Practically any kind business can take advantage of FACTORING. Typically, a company that extends credit will have 10 to 20 percent of its yearly sales tied up in accounts receivable at any given time. Think for a moment about how much is tied up in 60 days' worth of invoices: You can not pay the power bill or today s payroll with a customer s invoice, however you can sell that invoice for the money to meet those obligations. Using trucking factoring companies is a quick and easy procedure. The factoring company buys the invoice at a price cut, typically a couple of percentage points less than the face value of the invoice.

In particular, during the winter, thousands of wealthy tourists from the midwest, the northeast, and as far away as Canada, flood the area with long-term visits (known locally as ""snowbirds""). These tourists, who often practice the same migration routine annually, often end up purchasing second homes in the area.Over the past several years however, Scottsdale's growing abundance of trendy, high-end nightlife, cale restaurants, art galleries and luxury shopping, has made it a highly popular travel destination for the younger, white-collar, more style-conscious, travel set.The famed Mayo Clinic has one of its three major branches in Scottsdale. This and its resulting effects have made Scottsdale a strong destination nationally for medical care. The aviation industry has also grown in Scottsdale, with the construction of Scottsdale Airport in North Scottsdale, in the 1960s. Today, it is one the busiest single-runway airports in the United States in terms of aircraft operations. Though there is little to no commercial air service, nearly all operations are corporate or general aviation. The immediate area surrounding the Scottsdale Airport, known locally as the Airpark, has developed rapidly as a regional center of commerce. By 2004, the Airpark had grown to become the second-largest employment center in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, with over 50,000 people being employed within a few-mile radius of the airport itself notably in financial, retail, service, technological, design and manufacturing fields. The Airpark houses more nearly 2,500 individual businesses, with a combined economic impact of over $3 billion annually, and growing. The largest employment center in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area is the combined central areas of Midtown and Downtown Phoenix, with an estimated 65,000 employees. Considering the many large, yet-to-be-developed parcels and opportunities for growth in and around the still highly desired Airpark area in North Scottsdale, it is expected to overtake the central Phoenix markets in the near future, becoming the single largest center of employment in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.Among the companies headquartered in Scottsdale

Franklin Truck and Haul has been in business since the mid 1980s. They've delivered goods for nearly every major industry in the nation and for 20 plus years, business was booming as they've traversed the country in all weather for all clients. During the boom times from 2002 to 2007 Franklin Truck & Haul was the mastermind of a top-rated accounts receivable in the trucking industry. Very few customers were behind on their bills, and those customers who were late turned in their overdue payments within an acceptable time frame. Cash was flowing and times were good for all.It was just one year later, in 2008, when the economy in the United States took a sharp decline, and both large and small businesses started to notice the squeeze on their pocketbooks: everyone had suddenly gone silent. Business slowed to a crawl

. Worse still, it was noticed by Franklin in early 2008 that even though most of their loyal customers were on time with their payments, there were a few late bloomers who were starting to spread the disease. And as spring turmed to summer and summer into the early days of fall, Gilbert Barrett, CEO of Franklin felt a chill go down his spine whenever he would look at the weekly A/R reports. The numbers of clients who owed him back debt were growing. He had gone to his administrators and asked them what the problem had been. Were they doing something wrong or different when it came to reaching out to delinquent accounts? When checking his bookkeeper's records this was definitely not the case. He thought perhaps that he was losing clients to a competitor who offered rock-bottom prices with little to no guarantee of quality performance, and that the folks who owed Franklin money had jumped ship and decided to leave him holding the bag.

. They could not afford to pay him their debt, but they could afford a lesser service, maybe. So he did the necessary research and, after discussions with friends in the same field, he realised that no, his customers hadn't gone anywhere else. The had just gone!.To Gilbert Barrett the situation looked desperate. Gilbert was very concerned, because there were constant overheads, goods to ship, employees to pay, and trucks which needed to be maintained, but there just wasn't the money coming back into the business. After work he would confide in his wife, Beth, and neither were unable to stop the constant worry over the lack of funds.""I have a bad feeling, Lin,"" he would say with deep woe.""What could you do differently?"" she would say.Gilbert would stare off into the distance, and then slowly close his eyes. He could see the fleet of trucks he had purchased over the years. He could see them traveling, bringing goods to all of his clients. But then a haze would cover his trucks and his vast fleet would vanish to leave just a few. Why couldnt he work out how to resolve this financial problem with his business?""I know what it is,"" Gilbert said. ""For way too long I've been relying solely on profits received from invoices. I've let too many of our customers go too long without paying on their bills."" Beth would look at her husband lovingly, and holding his hand would say 'it is such a harsh economy these days and our clients must be having difficulty meeting their responsibilities'.""Gilbert knew very well that Beth was only trying to help, but his responsibilities weighed heavily on his shoulders and he knew he had better do something soon to resolve this situation. The next day Gilbert strolled into his office and was determined to sit down and make every phone call to every client who had owed Franklin money. Now, it wasn't the most efficient way to spend a day as a chief executive, what he really needed to be doing was to be overseeing all of the other intricacies of shipment and delivery and reaching out to prospective clients or retraining his sales team to do the same. But, he felt like he was doing something proactive to help his business, even though he had staff on salary to do just that thing. A waste of time - a waste of money - he had the best intentions, but all the while Gilbert was realising just how much trouble he was in.Poor Gilbert spent the whole morning trying in vain to contact his debtors: they promised to call back, dodged his calls, or made small interest-only payments. He was beginning to feel quite despaired when his secretary knocked on his door.

""Gilbert, can I have a word?"" she asked standing in the doorway.

""Sure thing Margie, come on in."" Gilbert relaxed back into his chair and looked up at Margieerley.""Well Gilbert, this afternoon I did some research, trying to work out how we are going to get out of this mess."" She opened up a folder she had been carrying and pulled out a small wad of papers, placing them on the desk in front of him.""Have you ever heard the word factoring?"" Margieerley asked.""It does sound vaguely familiar. What is it?"" he said. She began, ""Well, it is really very simple. Basically, factoring invoices means that we would get paid immediately for the loads we haul.""Immediately?"" Gilbert interrupted.""Immediately, yes"" she added, ""In a nutshell, it is pretty easy. We start by having a professional account manager review our figures and help us set up a company profile. Included in the profile would be the investigation of our accounts receivable aging reports, our current customers' credit limits etc.. In addition, factoring will assist in determining our customers' creditworthiness, independent from their credit relationship with our company. It provides a very broad view.""I see, Gilbert said. And then what?""Following the completion of their review and once we have been approved for a contract with the factoring company, then we sit down to negotiate conditions and terms. Theres a lot of flexibility depending on the business volume and credit histories. The company will advise us the cost to purchase factoring for our company's accounts receivable. We come to an agreement and the funding starts pouring out.Gilbert leaned forward and reviewed the paperwork closely.""I do not know, Margie - it just sounds too good to be true"", Gilbert said quietly.""Yes, I know; that's exactly what I thought at the beginning. But really, they have guaranteed us experts that do all the legwork, which would free us up here to focus on our clients in good standing and marketing, all that good stuff. They appear to be very flexible, Gilbert,"" she underlined a paragraph on the paper before him.""Just how flexible?"" he asked.""They personalize the factoring rates so that the amount they are willing to take on is commensurate with our needs and our clients debt. Apparently they can figure this all out in two to four days.

""That sounds pretty good, seeing as we tapped ourselves out with bank loans last year to repair the fleet and money sure is tight. We need to keep business rolling as normal and every day were going unpaid, were closer to facing some serious problems in both the short and long term,"" said Gilbert.Gilbert took in a long slow breath, then looked at his secretary with something like hope in his eyes.""Precisely. This could be the answer to our prayers: it will solve many problems we are facing due to these unpaid debts.""Gilbert took a moment to think about this solution, and agreed with his secretary. The customers who were in debt to Franklin Truck & Haul were professional resources of the company, but they were also long-standing friends. Just because they were experiencing difficulties paying their own bills now, Gilbert was very concerned about losing these relationships. He was well aware that the economy was in a bad way and that it might be quite a while before things started picking up. That unknown amount of time could create a disaster situation for both of them if he wasn't careful in how these debtors were handled. He did not want to lose business but he also did not want to lose any more money.""Let me go over this tonight Margie, and thankyou."" Margie nodded, stood up and left the office feeling that she had helped her employer keep on his shirt and hers too.Gilbert stayed at his desk for a long time, looking over the details they hadn't discussed during their meeting. What other issues could freight factoring help Franklin with? Running his pencil down the sheet, he noted that the freight factoring company could assist with fuel costs, fuel advances, and fuel discount cards. In fact, Franklin could receive up to fifty-percent cash advances upon load pick-ups. As a man who hated binding contracts with no room to breathe, he was pleased to see that this factoring company would not make him sign a long term contract, would not make him pay any sign up fees and there was no minimum volume required.""I must tell Mathew the good news,"" muttered Gilbert to himself.Gilbert's son-in-law, Mathew, loved the idea behind Franklin and highly respected his father-in-law for having such great business sense, that two years ago he got his capital together and started his own transportation company. At that time Gilbert knew the struggles Mathew would face, but he still encouraged him to follow his dream. With the faltering economy, if a big fish like Franklin was hurting, a little guy like Mathew was about to catch his death. But, an antidote may have been found in freight factoring and Gilbert was soon to find out. Some months later, having successfully gone through the entire process of the application, having experts study his credit history and statements and review his accounts receivable, Gilbert found that he was starting his journey out of the despair which had been created for him by his delinquent account holders. They took on reasonable factoring purchase contracts and stopped spending their precious man hours scrambling to collect debt. They took that time and refocused effort to offering competitive prices in new territories. Gilbert recalled those dismal months when he wasn't aware of freight factoring, and he shuddered at those memories. Had he missed the boat on this one, he probably wouldn't be in business today.

Factoring in the Future of a Trucking Business: A Story The phone was ringing on his desk, and Dean Ray just sat there letting it ring. He let his morning coffee cool and left his cigarette to ash itself in the tray, because he is trying to make the biggest decision ever for his trucking company. Ray Trucking Company had reached a turning point and he now had to make a decision as to whether he should sign up with a factoring company, and indeed if this would be a good or regrettable decision for his business.

More than forty years ago Dean's father had started this business working as an owner-operator and eventually growing Ray Trucking Company into a fifteen trailer fleet. There had been some hard times when it seemed everything was going to go under and even Deans mother strapped herself into a cab to make hauls. His father had lived long enough to witness the price of hires drop during the recession and watch the eruption of fuel prices afterwards. Now the company was solely in Deans hands and he wanted to live to see it in better shape for his sons.

To move Ray Trucking Company ahead into the future, he needed a steady cash flow but there was just not enough money to go around. He had employees to pay. They all have families and the usual household bills. A few of the refrigerated trailers really needed some maintenance, and in order to stay competitive he really wanted to invest in specialized haulers to meet the increasing requests for loads of agricultural and energy equipment. Every time he had to turn down a request, Ray Trucking looked weak in a very strong market.

His father would have told him to wait and to take his time adding on new technology. Dean chuckled, thinking about his father. He remembered when his father was totally against installing GPS units in the cabs. His Dad would say ""Why on earth do you need some stranger telling you to get off the exit that everyone knows has been there for years? He smiled to himself as he remembered his father poking fun at the other drivers who switched to automatic, even though automatic was quite obviously more efficient (though less manly). His father days were long gone and technology was actually an important improvement for the business such as having Qualcomm to cut down on fruitless time communicating on the phone for bills of lading.

Dean believed a successful man is always thinking of his next step. What would be the next step for Ray Trucking? And how would he be able to afford it? Funding was all tied up in the mortgage for the office and garage and in the fuel bills. Thankfully he'd just finished paying off the bank loan for the installation of satellite radio in the trucks.

But was factoring the answer? There was a lot he didnt understand about the process. It sounded a lot like ninth grade algebra which just didnt feel like it belonged as part of the trucking business. Factoring companies buy your invoices and manage your accounts receivable for a certain percentage of the invoiced amount. In return, the factoring company pays the trucking business straight away, providing immediate cash flow for the business to pay staff, purchase fuel, and do any repairs or maintenance. Without the assistance of factoring, you have to wait for customers to send you the payment which is often 30 days late. In those 30 days, a trucking company cant pay its bills and employees in invoices.

Dean had to really consider what his next step was going to be. Dean had heard that there were companies that charged for same day money transfers and would only advance a percentage of the money owed to your company while holding the rest in a private account if they didnt get their bill payment within 60 or so days. Plus it was worse still if the customer didnt pay up at all because then the factoring company would take it right out of the money supposed to be coming to you! He'd even heard about some companies putting you onto a sliding percentage scale regardless of any previously signed contracts for possibly 3% or 7%, and there you are now with 10% coming as a charge to you out of the freight bill. His friend Ronnie who had a trucking business in Missouri, was run nearly into the ground by a factoring company that charged him the full freight bill on top of the factoring fees. He knew he would have to be very careful if he was to avoid any of these shady companies?

But it turned out to be quite easy. All the factoring companies he researched were open about their business practices and very friendly on the phone when he called. Customer service appeared to understand their company and explained in clear, concise English exactly how it all worked. He was quite happy to sign an exclusive contract. He liked the idea of a long term commitment so he knew he wouldnt have to bother going back and forth to different companies and wasting time filing more forms. Nobody charged him for credit checks and they offered him a fuel advance on the pick-up of the load. Many companies offered a non-recourse factoring program that suited him just fine. Also he was happy to hear how much he was offered in terms of percentages on the freight bills. It sounded like a great scheme to him.

For Dean it was quite a relief to be dealing with the factoring company. They were extremely helpful and more personable than the bank staff. It seemed as though those bank people spoke another language, but these factoring guys knew the trucking business and spoke to him like a client, not like a beggar for a handout. The factoring companies didnt worry over his credit and the debt troubles his father had had in the past of the company. Factoring was based on the credit of his customers and on their reliability which worked well for Dean because he and his father had built up good strong relationships over decades with their list of clients. So he knew they would understand when the factoring company contacted them for the invoices. His clients would not have any problems, nor would they think poorly of Ray Trucking, because the factoring companies handle themselves in such a polite and professional manner, similar to the way his father had managed the business in the past.

Dean stepped out of his office to let his secretary know to expect the arrival of the factoring contract shortly. He felt exhilarated by the new possibilities that would make the future of the company fun again and put the stress of the difficult times behind him. He suddenly realized that, with this new cash flow, he could actually expand Ray Trucking Company and who knows, move into Canada, which had always been his dream. He was a happy man again knowing that he had just made a decision which would guarantee the success of his business and his sons would not be inheriting a financial mess.

Trucking Factoring  Articles

"

So, this is not a loan? asked Jamie Bradley, reclining back into his chair and crossing his legs. The woman who sat across the desk smiled and shook her head. Not quite, she stated.Jamie was the owner of a small trucking company which had fallen on some hard times recently. Certainly the trucking business can be an extremely profitable venture, and for many years it had been that way for Jeffery. His company was called Jordan Trucking, named after both of his grandfathers, Ricardo and Salvador. Both of these men had been very hardworking and had set a great example for Jeffery.Disaster had struck half a year ago, when two trucks in Jefferys fifteen truck fleet went down. One was a roll-over and ended up in the trucking graveyard: the other was involved in a serious and costly accident. The financial security of Jeffery's company relied on his full fleet on fifteen being on the road, and missing two trucks was just devastating . In addition, he just did not have the available cash to buy a new truck, plus repair the other one.Paying of bills in the trucking industry is always a major cause for concern for businesses.

Waiting a month or longer for bills to be paid was quite normal. In the long run, this wasnt an issue, but if problems arose, you could find yourself in trouble.Jamie was an excellent business man, and he certainly hadn't done anything wrong. Certain events had occurred that he could not possibly have predicted, and now he had to find a way to protect his business and prevent it from ultimate devastation.Thats where the woman across the desk came in. Jamie knew she was employed by a Factoring company and that her name was Suzanne. Jamie had come across her company as he sat in his office late one night, pouring over the internet for some solution to his problem long after his employees had gone home.Suzanne explained. it is really not a loan at all: we actually buy your accounts receivable. We arent giving you money to be paid back later, were buying something from you, and you can buy it back when you can. This is a win-win situation: we are protected from a total loss, and you're protected from the ridiculous fees and charges you'd have to pay if you borrowed from a bank.Jamie agreed. It sounded perfect - perhaps too good?.Suzanne laughed. You look like you dont believe me, she said.Oh no, I do: it just sounds too good to be true. I thought I was going to lose my company.Suzanne smiled, agreeing. Yes, we get a lot of that. Listen, Id hate to see you lose your company. You work hard, youve put everything you can into it. We all need help sometimes. Thats what were here for.""Well, I'm very grateful that you came to see me today.""Its right down the road, usually we do it all online, but I didnt mind swinging on by today, said Suzanne with a smile. Lets see what we can do to help you.And right there and then they created a business profile. Jamie completed the form, with Suzanne offering advice as needed.

The completed profile gave Suzanne and her company all the information they needed on Jeffery's business, and with this information they would determine if this business would in fact be suitable for Factoring. In truth, not all companies were. Some were beyond factoring special brand of help, and sometimes things werent even dire enough for it. As Jamie completed his form, Suzanne listened to his story and she felt quite sure he would be the ideal candidate for Factoring. When the form was done Suzanne took it and slid it into her briefcase. Standing up, she reached over the desk and shook Jeffery's hand. He stood before they shook as well, and then smiled. They said their goodbyes and Jamie walked her to the door, and then returned to his office. All his staff members were there, all seven who worked in his office. Sitting behind his desk once more he could hear the familiar sounds of his office workers going about their daily business. He shut his eyes. He had felt so helpless lately, was sure the whole thing was collapsing, and would take him with it. But now, after speaking to Suzanne and learning all about Factoring, he felt such a huge relief, like someone had just lifted a huge weight off his shoulders. He sat back in his chair and ran a hand through his graying but still thick black hair. The long nights, where he couldnt sleep. The terrifying panic attacks that occurred regardless of where he was. He could feel it all fading away. He wasnt out of the woods yet, there was still a lot of work to be done, but he could feel it. He was still here; he knew this was the right path for him, and he felt proud that he had taken the appropriate steps to sort out his problems.Jamie couldnt help but think back to when he had first started the business. He had opened a restaurant at age twenty two when he was fresh out of school. It had been really successful. Offering home cooking in his own hometown, his business had really prospered. But he had gotten bored. He wasn't passionate about the food industry. He thought about it for a long time, then decided it was time to sell his restaurant. He took half a year off, and in that time he thought to start Jordan Trucking. So he did it. Once again he built a company from the ground up. The business had been an instant success. Then disaster! The two trucks went down and suddenly his success wasn't looking so guaranteed. He was nearing fifty. He didnt think he had it in him, to save this company. But giving up wasn't part of his personality either.

The idea of cutting his losses, shutting down, laying off his workers, it actually made him sick some nights. He didnt know how to say quit. And now it seemed as though he would not have to - all because of Factoring. Jamie opened his eyes, sat forward, turned his computer on. He had things to do. There would be plenty of time later to be thankful, but for now it was time to get back to work.

The key reasons why Truck Corporations Work with Factoring Companies.

As the operator of your own establishment, you may likely be more than perceptive already of the challenge in making sure that capital matters do not become a difficulty down the line. Anyway, the most unfortunate thing that can in all probability develop for your business is to find yourself dragged in a long and hard predicament that leaves you forever looking for the funds you are in need of on an on-going basis.

For any type of establishment in this condition, the dilemma can come for waiting for work to lapse and actually be provided into your account. Statements, checks, and the like could take a long time to actually to be taken care of which can certainly leave you with temporary capital difficulties. Thankfully, there are alternatives out there for industries to examine-- and just one of these is factoring companies.

Factoring agencies will, in exchange for your invoices, provide you with the funds now so you do not have to worry about the waiting time frame that could make paying the bills and getting materialsmore hard. With this sort of setup, invoice factoring can become exceptionally practical for various businesses who ought to get out of a money trap which they have discovered themselves in.

For the reason that, depending on the scale of the task, it can take up to 60 days for some enterprises to get compensated then it is necessary to cover your own back and definitely not leave yourself resources short to settle the costs. After all, how many establishments have two months cash flow just occupying there to cover all their costs till they make money?

This is especially correct of trucking agencies. They have the tendency to handle tons of accounts which means a significant volume of collection time entails company owner themselves. Trying to get paid promptly can eventually become an unbelievable inconvenience and this is exactly why you employ trucking factoring firms who are glad to help out truckers particularly.

As we all determine, trucking is an surprisingly massive market with many companies out there handling hundreds of drivers. Sadly, several of these drivers end up in money troubles since they are still waiting for work from six weeks previously to actually compensate them. When this is the scenario for a trucking organization, turning to factoring providers for reinforcement could be the finest choice left.

This implies that a truck firm can compensate the salaries of the people, keep all the vehicles refilled with fuel and continue to go up, rise and expand without continually waiting for the funds which is taking too prolonged to come in. Trucking Firms running without a factoring system applied are leaving themselves at substantial threat, as contenders cash out promptly and go on to grow.

There's honestly not much to be worried about when it comes to making use of a Factoring firm-- they typically are not like a bank or somebody who is going to leave you with a large heap of financial debt to repay. You give them legitimate invoices from job you have already finalized , you are just speeding up the repayment system.

In the United states of America, where trucking enterprises grow, factoring providers are not considered getting a loan in any capacity. This private deal then permits both parties to make money and take joy in a comfortable future-- it gives the factoring business a guaranteed asset of income to put into the list and it furnishes the trucking business the required cash that they sweated to earn.

The trucking establishment bestows their accounts to the factoring business. The trucking factoring company then receive the installment payments from the trucking company's customers. Factoring has been all around for centuries and has been used for long times by numerous varied fields-- but none more so than truckers. While you might lose out on a small part of the money, something like 1-3 % depending on who you team up with, it signifies that you are obtaining the finances today and can actually start off putting the funds to perform.

Anyway, an IOU or an invoice is absolutely not going to finance bills, is it? For trucking companies when the finances can be great one day and gone the next, it is up to the drivers to work prudently and to make sure that they are leaving themselves with a considerable quantity of time and finance to get through the week up until they are paid for once more.

So the next occasion your trucking establishment is having some temporary cash flow challenges and you are spending way too much time chasing inactive paying clienteles, why not begin thinking of using a factoring businesses as a way to get your cash and give yourself a more convenient future in the eyes of your trucking staff and your bank balance?

Traditional Bank Loans

Finance through a bank loan is the normal, or traditional, way of financing your business. These loans can be a life-saver, but they're not always available to every business. For example, a fairly newly established business simply may not have the assets to readily get a loan from a bank, even if they do, the standard collateral for a business loan is the business itself, which means that if you cannot make your loan payment, you risk losing your entire business. In addition, while you apply for a certain loan amount, that is all the financing you are entitled to. Once the loan is paid off, you can then apply for another loan if the need arises.

What Are Trucking Factoring Companies?

Trucking Factoring companies do not give loans, and the money you get from the Trucking Factoring company does not put you in debt. The finance you receive from the Trucking Factoring company is determined by money already earned by your business, but not yet received. The Trucking Factoring company purchases your accounts receivable, or part of them, for a certain percentage of their value - this is normally about 80-95%. The amount of money you can receive is based on the amount of money you have earned and the accounts receivable you are willing to sell. Once a Trucking Factoring account has been created for you, it will continue for as long as you need it, with the money available continuing to grow as your business grows, and providing cash as you require it.

What Are The Benefits Of A Trucking Factoring Company Versus A Traditional Bank Loan?

While not every business can take advantage of Trucking Factoring account financing (you have to have a business that has account receivables) for those that can use this type of financing there are several distinct benefits.

1. You will not Incur Debt. You do not incur debt as you do with a bank loan because the Trucking Factoring company actually purchases your accounts receivable. One of the main benefits of this kind of financing is that your business credit rating and your personal credit rating will not be affected. Should the unforeseeable happen and your business fails, you will not have to worry about anyone coming after your personal as well as your business assets to pay off a loan. With a bank loan, the debt goes onto your credit report, and even one late payment can adversely affect your businesses credit, and even the ability to get insurance and may even reflect upon your personal credit rating.

2. No Collateral Required. Another benefit of using a Trucking Factoring company instead of a traditional loan is that you are not required to provide collateral to the Trucking Factoring company in order to secure financing, because the company buys the accounts receivables; not loans you money based on them. Plus, the state of your credit rating is not an issue; however the Trucking Factoring company will run a credit check on your clients whose accounts receivable are being offered for financing. This makes it easier for fledgling businesses to get the financing they need through a Trucking Factoring company (as long as their accounts receivables are in good order) then from a bank, who may not feel that you have been in business long enough to be worth the risk of issuing you a loan.

3. You'll receive the money faster. Using a Trucking Factoring company means that you'll get the finance quicker. The money will normally be in your account within 24 hours, once the Trucking Factoring company is confident that your customers accounts are likely to be paid. With a bank, there are vast amounts of paperwork, then the loan has to be underwritten, which can take months before you actually see the loan if it is approved.

4.You receive interest up-front. Unlike a bank loan that continues to build interest that you have to pay the entire time you have your business loan with a Trucking Factoring company, you do not have to continue to pay interest as they take it right off the top, deducting it from the total amount of accounts receivable. So not only are you relieved of those monthly loan payments, but you also do not have to worry about the building up of interest, as every penny in the account is yours to spend on the business.

As you can see from the above, there are some great benefits to financing through a Trucking Factoring company, and not through a traditional bank loan. However, there are also a couple of other benefits that a factory company can offer your business is far beyond the scope of the bank. The most important benefits is that once you sell your accounts receivable to the factory company, you do not have to take time away from running your business to collect the money owed from reluctant to pay customers. Since these accounts belong to the Trucking Factoring company, this is now their job. Trucking Factoring companies are very good at collecting these debts, saving you the time and effort that you need to devote to your growing company.

In addition, since the Trucking Factoring company evaluates the credit quality of your customers prior to purchasing the accounts receivable you gain valuable information into which customers are likely to pay and which ones are not so likely to pay.A Trucking Factoring company is not the only method of gaining access to finance for the running and growing of your business, however it does offer a financing option well worth considering.
